Once a member of faculty at Sussex University where she ran the MA in Media Studies, Thornton then became a Visiting Research Fellow at Goldsmiths, University of London. As a freelance journalist and author she contributes on regularly basis amongst others to The Economist, Artforum, The Art Newspaper, and The New Yorker.

Julia Voss is co-editor (with Niklas Maak) of the art department of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
Nikolaus Hirsch is currently guest professor for Art and Architecture at the Städelschule and host of the lecture series.
